but idk, I know some people take it overboard lol, but I don’t really think that everyone who’s into slash should be counted as someone who’s not actually a supporter, or someone who’s any “less” of a supporter than anyone else.
at least it is support. the slash and the yaoi and whatever is just a type of fiction and yes it’s kind of a “fad,” but I think that it and support for gay rights are two separate entities. like you can be into both and they can be two different things for you.

The “At least it is” defense is NOT a valid reason. Because the support really isn’t support, it’s a trend. Perfect example, One of the first friends I came out to was SO EXCITED to finally have “a gay best friend” but then later told me that she wasn’t “sure if (she thought) it was ok for two men to ever get married. It just (didn’t) seem right.”
And it’s kinda the same thing with the slashing (I fear). It’s like “oh look two males I find attractive, they should be a gay couple”, but what about the men who aren’t attractive?
I’m not saying either is exclusive, but I am saying the trend is troubling.

so your bad quality is worse than my 0 quantity? you really want to make that argument. You at least have the chance of finding a quality guy at a gay bar. I don’t even have the option unless I want to drive 2 hours in both directions to spend a few hours at the gay bars in Portland. Mind you they are filled with hipsters and other Portlanders who know they are too good for anyone not living in Portland.

I don’t go to straight bars unless I know the girls I’m going with cant handle their alcohol and are therefore in danger.
but besides that I avoid them like the Klan.
But gay bars in orange county, are not kind to poor, pudgy unattractive gay men… so it just seems like a waste.
at least you have gay bars to go to…There are none in my small hell hole of a college town.
so I go to the straight bars and I deal. At least this one hosts a drag show once a month. (but that’s next week)
Now get your ass ready and go have fun for me at the gay bars. And never again complain about gay bars, because the nearest gay bar to me is two hours away.
